Happy New Year
Come along to our open afternoon on Sunday 30th December between 2.00 – 4.00pm if you would like to have a look at the studios or discuss any classes with the teachers. We are all looking forward to 2008 and can’t wait to get started again – dancing gives your body such a buzz. If you are thinking of starting with your partner I really can’t think of a nicer hobby that you can do together – if you are at different levels a few 1 to 1 dance lessons would be a good idea.
Our beginners classes are really good fun and you really do learn to dance. You may come to our beginner’s class with or without a partner but you do need a partner on the intermediate or improver nights. We had some really good dance nights leading up to Christmas and it was great to see everyone dancing, having fun.
We have 4 new absolute beginner Latin and Ballroom classes starting in January, plus a new Street class and an adult ballet class.
We cater for 2nd stage beginners – if you started last September then join the new Friday class at 8.30pm.
We have intermediate and improver classes but I suggest you call in or phone to make sure you attend the best class.
We wish you a healthy and happy 2008.

Learn to Dance before Christmas!!
Our adult classes are buzzing – I think everyone is watching Strictly Come Dancing and whilst you might not agree with everything it is without doubt a very entertaining programme for all ages and non dancers realise that dancing is a great fun way of keeping fit and having fun.
Our current beginners classes are progressing well and so far we have covered quickstep, cha cha and have just started rock n’ roll ready for the Christmas parties and dances. We have one more absolute beginners class starting on Friday 9th November at 8.30pm this will be the last new class before Christmas so come on down and join in.
The Thursday 7.30pm improver class which is all instruction is going well and the standard is pretty good almost up to Bronze level in Quickstep, Cha Cha and Samba. This is followed by an intermediate group of all different levels.
The Wednesday intermediate group are now flying. They all look good and feel confident, quite a few members are booking and enjoying cruise holidays and their social diaries seem pretty busy!
The studios aim is to teach you to dance so you can go anywhere and feel comfortable. The next Saturday beginners social is 10th November. (Anglo pupils only)
Junior members are working hard for awards in December – all classes are fun and well supported from baby ballet to Hip Hop/Street and ballroom and Latin.

Happy New Year
We had a fabulous Christmas party and just wanted to thank you all for coming and making it such a happy night. Thanks also to Elliot and Zoe for the Strictly Come Dancing Samba & Jive which we all enjoyed.
It looks like the new beginner’s classes are going to be busy and every one seems to be asking about footwear – obviously dance shoes do make such a difference they are much lighter, with special non slip soles and give the foot good support. However in the early stages provided that you wear shoes that you feel comfortable on your feet you should be okay. Boots are not a good idea as they are normally too restrictive around the ankle and calf, & sling back sandals can be lethal when you trying to balance on backward steps! As we have sprung maple dance floors which are fabulous to dance on we just ask that if you wear a high heel please make sure it does not have a steel tip as they cause serious damage to our floors.
Hope to see you soon.
Toni

Ready for the New Year we have decided to include a forum facility into the Anglo web site. We hope this will become a popular feature amongst our web site visitors and Anglo members.
The forum is open to everyone even if you are not an Anglo dancer so please go on over and have a look.
Or Visit the forum here.

Anglo News Update!
All current beginner classes are progressing really well and we are looking forward to the next party night when everyone will be able to strut their stuff and perform a Cha-Cha, Jive, American Smooth and Waltz.
Zoe’s Monday class is having great fun with Cha-Cha and Meringue and will shortly be moving onto Jive.
Karen’s Wednesday class has covered Cha-Cha, American Smooth and is moving on to Jive.
Toni’s Saturday class has been working on Cha-Cha and Quickstep and is now on Jive and Waltz.
If this tempts you to join a class which really are good fun, make a date for the new Thursday class on 2nd November at 7.30pm.
If you miss a class there is always a Saturday afternoon when you can join in and recap anything you’ve missed out on.
We know most of the men are a bit scared of starting dance classes but don’t worry we really look after you because the girls need you and can’t dance Ballroom and Latin on their own!!
